Veritas Counseling Center was opened in 1991 as the solo
psychotherapy private practice of Shannon K. Spellman, M.S.W. Since 1991, Veritas Counseling Center has been the registered
trade name and the
practice was converted to a limited liability company in 2003.
Veritas, pronounced "ver' uh toss", is taken from the Latin
word "verity" and is used as a symbol for Truth. Truth, in this sense,
basically means the absence of denial. At Veritas Counseling Center, clients
are gently encouraged to break through denial that keeps them trapped in
dysfunctional patterns so that they may move towards becoming their True Selves
and being True to themselves.
The office in Phoenix, Arizona is located in the Union
Centre Suites on the northeast corner of Union Hills Drive and 32nd Street. That
is just south of the 101 and just west of the 51 in North Phoenix. Office hours are Monday
through Thursday by appointment only, with daytime, evening and early morning times
available.
To schedule an appointment, clients may either reserve a time online
or call and leave a
message on the confidential voice mail. The therapist personally returns
calls usually within one hour and always within one business day. Please

new clients to immediately reserve an initial appointment online.
There is an additional office located in Payson, Arizona with
office hours by appointment on Thursdays. Clients interested in being seen in the
Payson office need to call to schedule an appointment.
